Themed ‘Make, Create, Play’, this year’s festival returning to Southland Girls’ High School, home of the ILT Kidzone Festival, will include over 100 activities for children and their caregivers to enjoy together, including new activities including axe throwing, mini robots, and sensory lane just to name a few!
Festival Operations Manager Hannah Wallis said families can expect a magical experience and recommends that with the exciting new activities in the mix, families purchase tickets well in advance of the event.
“And it’s not just for the kids! Live out your childhood fantasies, get that funky hair-do, weave some flax, and bring out your inner Picasso. Get into it!” Ms Wallis said.
“More and more families are travelling to the region from other parts of New Zealand to attend the festival and some families returned for a second or even third day last year, meaning tickets this are in high demand.”
As a head entertainer for the Festival, Brendan Dooley will be pulling some “insane stunts” and quick-wit comedy for the whole family to enjoy, she said.
Tickets to ILT Kidzone are $21 per person per day per ticket, inclusive of fees, with under two-year-olds free. Ticket price is all-inclusive covering all activities, rides and experiences.
“For a full day of entertainment, with all activities included, it’s excellent value. Just bring some money for food trucks or a good coffee, otherwise, bring a picnic!” Ms Wallis said.
“We are using an external ticket provider for tickets, so there’ll be no need to queue to collect pre-purchased tickets on the day.”
Families can keep in touch with the latest ILT Kidzone announcements, ticket giveaways and new activity highlights on the ILT Kidzone Facebook page.
“We can’t wait to welcome families and friends back to ILT Kidzone Festival and hope businesses around the region leverage from this event and entice visitors to make Invercargill to stay longer”.
ILT Kidzone is proudly presented by Great South, with generous support from community funders including the ILT, ILT Foundation, Community Trust South, Invercargill City Council, NZ Lottery Grants Board and the Aotearoa Gaming Trust.
