Southland Youth Futures

Southland Youth Futures was established in 2014 as Great South's regional career exploration programme to connect young Southlanders with career and training opportunities across Southland industries, and to strengthen the pathway between education and employment.

With a focus on developing work readiness skills and improving outcomes for Southland youth, we work with schools, training providers, local employers, community organisations and government agencies.

The programme drives initiatives to provide opportunities for people to connect with employers through a range of activities such as through the Work Ready Passport, industry specific events (including Girls in Trade), workplace visits, and speakers in schools.
