Celebrating tech and innovation in the south
COIN South, Southland Business Chamber and Great South are excited to partner together to showcase Southland businesses for Tech Week 2024, on from 20 to 26 May.

The week will celebrate technology, including virtual reality, driving simulation, tech & innovation and exciting digital developments in the south.
Tech Week is a nationwide programme developed and curated locally by regional partners, fulfilling the six strategic pillars of Tech for the World, Sustainability & Climate, Good Health & Wellbeing, Diversity & Talent, Gen AI, and Digital Safety.
Great South Regional Business Partner Network Manager Dale Booth says the development and adoption of technology within business continues to grow in importance each year.
“Tech week gives us a chance to celebrate and learn about those who are doing great things in the tech space locally.”
Tech Week 2024 events in Southland include:
Virtual Reality Driving Simulation with Underground Gaming and Great South| Tuesday the 21st May 10.00am , 1:00pm & 5:00pm (2 hour sessions)
New Zealand Aluminium Smelter Tour with the Southland Business Chamber| Wednesday the 22nd of May at 4:30 – 6:30pm.
The Innovator’s Compress with Coin South| Thursday the 23rd of May at 12:00 – 1:00pm
- Popcorn Pitch with Coin South| Thursday 18 May 5.30 – 7:30pm
- Tour of Technology at Te Rau o Te Huia SIT Centre for Creative Industries, with SIT and Coin South | Friday the 24th of May between 3:00pm to 6:00pm.
Techweek is a nationwide festival, showcasing and celebrating New Zealand innovation with a mix of live, virtual and hybrid events. TechweekTV will also be featuring a series of live, online video sessions broadcasting with interactive panel discussions and presentations giving access to the brightest tech minds in Aotearoa New Zealand.
