Thriving Through Change & Uncertainty - 18 March 2021
After what was a challenging 2020, Great South is hosting this workshop to equip you with the skills to face any future challenges and uncertainty.
While our brains cope with change reasonably well in most situations, it is more of a struggle when we are faced with a significant degree of uncertainty, especially when it is ongoing. In times like this, it is helpful to be aware of your typical habits, routines and rituals and whether they are helping or hindering you. It is easy to get stuck using habits that provide short-term relief but are unhelpful over the long term. This workshop focuses on evidence-based tools and techniques that (when practiced and applied regularly) make a positive difference to peoples’ lives. These tools calm the threat response, broaden perspective, increase perspective taking and boost performance and creativity.
This workshop will focus on five critical skills to cope well with change:
1. Calm the nervous system
2. Hunt the good stuff
3. Manage worry and rumination
4. Practice acceptance
5. Focus on what you can control
Thursday 18 March
Level 6, Kelvin Hotel, Invercargill
10.30am to 2.30pm
This workshop is FREE, however registrations are essential.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org by Thursday 11 March to secure your spot!
