Partnerships with local and international media play an important role in sharing Southland's story and inspiring further travel to the region.

Inspiring travel to Southland is vital to increasing overnight visitation and ensuring the region can benefit from increased tourism expenditure. To encourage this, we coordinate and develop media opportunities that showcase the region and manage a media famil programme which gives reporters and industry representatives a first-hand experience of our world-famous southern hospitality. 

Our involvement in this area also supports local tourism operators as we provide advice for tourism operators about engaging with the media and telling their own individual story.
