Southland is known for high-quality events which add diversity, vibrancy and bring a sense of well-being to those that live here.
To do our part in creating an exciting and action-packed events calendar, we coordinate several of Southland’s iconic events including the ILT Kidzone Festival and the Southland Arts Festival.
We also recognise that events play an important role in promoting Southland as an attractive place to live, work and visit so along with delivering a number of iconic events, we also help to attract events to Southland, offer a number of services to coordinate their delivery once they are here and support others across the region to deliver their own successful events.
ILT Kidzone Festival
Each year, during the term two holidays, we deliver the ILT Kidzone Festival - an exciting day out for school-age children and their families. From face painting to zorbs (water balls), craft to sport, and everything in between, the festival is a highlight for school-age children!

Burt Munro Challenge
Since 2006 when the inaugural Burt Munro Challenge was held, we have been supporting the Southland Motorcycle Club to deliver what is now recognised at the largest motorcycle rally in the southern hemisphere. With up to seven racing disciplines on offer, the challenge has a strong local & national following, and rapidly growing international interest.

Shakespeare in the Park
Shakespeare in the Park is a popular summertime event, held in February each year, presenting outdoor Shakespearean performances as either full plays or “promenade” style shows that feature a smorgasbord of scenes. We support The Shakespeare in the Park Charitable Trust to deliver this event and celebrate the Bard's brilliance!
