Skills Placement Programme

Connecting newcomers to Southland with employment opportunities

2019 Business Survey now open

Your feedback shapes our business services and how we advocate for Southland business at a local and national level.

Through the Skills Placement Programme, we are connecting skilled migrants, and their spouses, with employment opportunities in Southland.

For those new to Southland and seeking employment, we’re here to assist in identifying employment opportunities across the region, assist newcomers to become work-ready and help them settle into their new working life in Southland.

Along with assisting newcomers to find employment, we’re also able to support Southland employers to plan their recruitment of skilled migrants and manage the arrival of any new employees into their workforce.

Given the goal of attracting 10,000 more people by 2025, we’re committed to developing a strong and diverse workforce. The Skills Placement Programme provides the means in which we will be able to do this by attracting international skills and talent to Southland and matching them with employers.
