Grow your business

Do business in Southland

Whether you’re looking to increase business knowledge, improve business processes, or create a new product or service, we can help you to make the most of the opportunities available

We have access to a range of resources, tools and networks that can support you with your next business step, including:

Training Vouchers

Your quest to solve your business challenge, or develop a new product or service could benefit from New Zealand Trade and Enterprise’s training voucher scheme. Being part of the Regional Business Partner Network, we are able to connect you with vouchers that can cover up to 50% of the cost of training offered by a registered training provider.

Business planning tools

We have a wide range of business plan templates that can help you to develop your own personalised business plan. A business plan can help focus your ideas, identify areas of potential growth, give you credibility with banks and lenders and establish a roadmap for achieving your business goals and vision.

Alongside offering business plan templates for you to use, we also offer a free, confidential business plan review service.

Business Mentoring Programme

A business mentor can be invaluable support for business owners at any stage of their business journey. Mentors involved in the Southland programme all have significant business experience and can support you with your business goals by offering guidance, acting as a sounding board, testing your thinking and helping you to validate your business ideas over a 12 month period.

If you have a business idea for a research and development project, we can support you in accessing funding to help make it happen. This includes administering funding available from Callaghan Innovation that can cover up to 30-50% of the costs for projects that have technical stretch, return on investment, the capacity to deliver, and a clear pathway to market.

It’s important to note that R&D funding is not available retrospectively so if you have an idea to grow your business then make sure you get in touch with us early so you have access to all the information you need to make the most of this opportunity.
